REEFS – A multipurpose technology for shore protection and wave energy production

Daniel Oliveira holds a MSc degree in Structural Engineering from the University of Coimbra (2016). His MSc thesis focused on numerical modelling of fluid-structure interaction (FSI) in offshore environment (wave’s action on a jacket platform). Currently, he is developing PhD research in Steel and Composite Construction at the University of Coimbra, supported by a FCT Grant. His research combines experimental and computational fluid dynamics (CFD) simulations of water waves propagation and interaction with a novel multipurpose wave energy converter, named REEFS.
